SAS Trustee Corporation (STC), otherwise known as State Super, invests and administers defined benefit and defined contribution superannuation schemes on behalf of the NSW Government and associated employers. State Super schemes currently have over 91,000 members and manage investments of approximately $38 billion as at 30 June 2022.

State Super currently has an opportunity for an ESG Associate and contribute to the implementation of the State Super’s Responsible Investment Policy and its effective integration into investment decision making and management processes. 

As an ESG Associate you will work to identify and manage risks associated with ESG and stewardship activities assisting the Senior Manager, Responsible Investment with this as well as managing the compliance and support for State Super’s Net-Zero commitment. You will also be involved with the following:

  • Provide insights on emerging trends applicable to investment managers and ESG/ Responsible Investor integration through comprehensive data analysis 
  • Research, analyse and draft discussion papers and reports, on complex matters relating to company, sector, and thematic issues on responsible investment and ESG 
  • Collaborate with and monitor third-party investment managers to improve quality and relevance of ESG related investments to ensure quality outcomes for State Super 
  • Develop strong engagement and buy-in internally and externally with members, investment managers and across government. 

To succeed in this role, you will have experience within investments, superannuation or the consulting sector. The ability to work collaboratively is essential as you’ll be partnering with the investment team to reach shared and desired outcomes. 

State Super offers a remuneration package between $135,610 - $158,871 (inclusive of superannuation), flexible work conditions, and learning opportunities within a progressive and supportive environment.

This position is based in their Sydney CBD office and the expectation is you will be available on-site 2-3 days per week.
