TOM Executive and I have engaged exclusively with a highly respected leader in the Australian commercial products industry, part of a large, internationally listed group renowned for its operational excellence and innovation. With a strong focus on delivering high-quality products and services, they serve a diverse range of customers across commercial, retail, and industrial sectors.

The business is experiencing significant growth, underpinned by a strategic acquisition strategy that is expanding its market presence and enhancing its service offering across Australia. Due to this growth with over 10 businesses in their current portfolio and further acquisitions in the pipeline over the next 3 years, they are recruiting a highly capable, commercially strong business partner to join their commercial finance team.

 

Role responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with senior leadership, state managers, and key operational and financial stakeholders to drive P&L performance and achieve strategic objectives for state operations.
  • Establish advanced analytical capabilities to deliver actionable insights that inform both high-level strategy and day-to-day business decisions.
  • Work alongside business leaders to tackle key challenges, identify growth opportunities, and turn strategic recommendations into clear execution plans.
  • Own and manage the budgeting and forecasting process (monthly, quarterly, and annually), highlighting key drivers and impacts from market dynamics.
  • Simplify complex information from stakeholders, deliver accurate business performance updates, and develop recommendations to address volatility and uncertainty.
  • Continuously assess and enhance reporting systems and processes (Power BI & TM1) to ensure smooth, accurate, and efficient delivery of insights.
  • Support critical business decisions through scenario analysis, predictive modelling, business case development, and long-term planning for state and business line operations.
  • Partner with leadership and M&A teams on growth initiatives, including supporting transaction execution and overseeing post-acquisition integration efforts.
  • Ad hoc analysis as required by the senior management.
  • Continuous improvements of analysis and reporting.
     

About you:

  • CA or CPA qualification with over 3 years of audit experience AND  4 years of commercial business partnering experience.
  • Experience with in a FMCG, retail or a product focused industry as a Commercial Analyst.
  • Confident communication skills and problem-solving ability
