Credit Analyst

A Credit Analyst is typically responsible for assessing the creditworthiness of loan applicants and making recommendations to credit teams for loan approvals

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Analysing financial data and market trends to assess the creditworthiness of loan applicants
  • Preparing detailed credit risk assessments and making recommendations to internal credit teams for loan approvals
  • Conducting financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and other relevant financial analysis techniques to determine creditworthiness
  • Reviewing loan applications, credit reports, and other financial documents to identify potential risks and opportunities
  • Communicating with loan applicants, bank staff, and external parties to gather additional information and clarify details as required
  • Maintaining accurate records of credit analysis activities and decisions
  • Staying up-to-date with changes to lending legislation, market trends, and lender policies
  • Identifying opportunities to improve credit risk management processes and procedures

Typical requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Proven experience as a Credit Analyst; ideally with a DLA or DCA
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk management and lending policies and regulations
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
