T+O+M Executive's Accounting & Finance team hosted their inaugural “Rising Leaders” event in partnership with Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand.

3 industry experts, David Walsh, Jadie Petch and Rael Novos, shared their personal journeys and perspective on navigating the industry and becoming a future leader with an audience of nearly 100 Chartered Accountants.

Actionable advice that they shared included: 

1. Step out of your comfort zone - whether it's switching industries or seizing internal opportunities you hadn't considered before, taking that leap can lead to remarkable growth and opportunities.
2. Prepare and research - whether you're preparing for an interview or contemplating a significant career change, preparation will demonstrate your commitment and interest in the new role. It also means you have the knowledge and information you need to make an informed decisions.
3. Have a mentor or trusted person in your network - having someone to bounce ideas off is invaluable. They can provide guidance, share their experiences, and offer different perspectives on your career decisions.
4. Prioritise your mental health and well-being - not only are regular breaks, disconnecting from technology, and doing things that help you relax important for your wellbeing, they also increase your overall productivity and creativity.
