Operational Risk Manager

Key responsibilities of an Operational Risk Manager include:

- Develop operational risk frameworks and support the development of a strong risk culture across various stakeholder groups
- Provide expert operational risk advice, acting as a trusted advisor to help the business and board comply with regulations
- Assess new product and business opportunities
- Monitor, assess and improve the control environment
- Undertake risk and control self-assessments, incident management, issue identification and management and audit liaison
- Implement and maintain effective risk management strategies
- Manage the assurance function, including the development and design of an assurance plan to accommodate changes in the business
- Build effective relationships with key stakeholders across the business, ensuring they understand their responsibilities in relation to effective operational risk management

Skills, education and experience required of an operational risk practitioner:

- Five years’ + experience in an operational risk role, or in a Big4 consultancy with a financial services client base
- Relevant tertiary and professional qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to analyse complex processes and issues
- Write and present concise and valuable reports
- Proven ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels
