Tax and Financial Reporting Manager

Key Responsibilities:

1) Financial Reporting 

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for investment funds in accordance with GAAP and other regulatory standards
  • Coordinate with fund administrators, auditors, and other stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Analyse financial data and provide insights to senior management on fund performance, trends, and variances.

 

2) Tax Compliance

  • Manage the preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns for investment funds, including partnership tax returns (Form 1065) and related schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations, including tax reporting requirements for various investment strategies and structures.
  • Coordinate with external tax advisors and auditors to address tax-related inquiries and issues.

 

3) Investor Reporting

  • Prepare investor capital account statements, distributions, and other investor communications in accordance with fund documents and regulatory requirements.
  • Respond to investor inquiries and provide assistance with investor reporting and communications as needed.

 

4) Regulatory Requirement

  • Stay abreast of regulatory developments and changes impacting financial reporting and tax compliance for investment funds.
  • Ensure compliance with SEC, IRS, and other regulatory requirements governing fund operations and reporting.
  • Assist with regulatory filings and disclosures as needed.

 

5) Process Improvement and Automation

  • Identify opportunities to streamline financial reporting and tax processes through automation and process improvements.
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders and technology teams to implement software solutions and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Continuously evaluate and optimize workflows to improve operational effectiveness.

 

Typical Experience/Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or advanced degree preferred
  • Minimum of xx years of experience in financial reporting and tax compliance for investment funds or similar financial institutions.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, taxation, and regulatory requirements relevant to investment funds (e.g., partnership taxation, ASC 820).
  • Proficiency in tax software and financial reporting tools
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, with the ability to analyze complex financial data and interpret tax regulations.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ability to prioritize workload, manage multiple tasks
